Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo today inaugurated the newly constructed Academic Block of Government Degree College (GDC) Pouni in Reasi district, marking a significant step towards strengthening higher education infrastructure in the region.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister reiterated the Government’s focused and committed approach towards improving the quality of education and upgrading infrastructure in higher educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir. She said that the Government is continuously working to provide better academic facilities, modern infrastructure and a conducive learning environment for students, especially in rural and remote areas.The Minister highlighted that the newly constructed academic block will help enhance teaching-learning processes and provide improved facilities to students and faculty members of GDC Pouni. She emphasized that education remains a top priority of the Government and several initiatives are underway to raise academic standards and ensure equitable access to quality education.During the visit, Sakeena Itoo also interacted with public delegations and local residents, patiently listening to their issues and demands. She assured them that their genuine concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to inclusive development.Senior officers from the district administration, education department officials, college staff, students and local representatives were present on the occasion.
